What, you may ask, is a Wholphin?! Well, it's a cross between a whale and a dolphin, of course. It's also our very favourite quarterly DVD magazine from McSweeney's, the cult literary bookazine headed by Dave Eggers. Lovingly encoded with unique and ponderable films. Each issue of Wholphin contains a variety of extraordinary short films, animated shorts, docs, instructional videos, foreign sitcoms, and outlandish cinema hybrids that deserve to be seen on very expensive televisions.
We are such huge fans of the series, so brilliantly selected and presented, that we became the first and only UK stockist of the series, as both ourselves and our customers were finding it impossible to get hold of these in the UK.

Wholphin 2 features a brand-new film from Steven Soderbergh; the Japanese "Bewitched" re-scripted by writers of The Daily Show; two Oscar-nominated animated shorts; an excerpt from Errol Morris's "The Movie Movie"; squids being born; and special appearances by Andy Richter, Donald Trump, and a monkey-faced eel. Issue No. 2 also includes a special bonus disc containing a controversial political documentary, "The Power of Nightmares," which the UK Guardian accurately called "The film U.S. TV networks dare not show." 300 minutes.
