Modelled on the Swiss Railway Station Clock which has been displayed in every Swiss railway station since the 1940s, the Official Swiss Railways Watch was developed by Mondaine in 1986. Now a symbol of Swiss efficiency, the original clock was designed in 1944 by a Swiss Federal Railways employee Hans Hilfiker (1901-1993). He designed the face to be easily readable from a distance, despite the dearth of numbers, with a red second hand to enable passengers to judge precisely when trains would arrive and depart.

Dimensions
Face: 3.2cm diameter x 0.7cm deep. Strap: 23.6cm long (adjustable)

Steel casing and leather strap
