Half Pint Mug

Designed by Tim Parsons, 2001

Tim Parsons designed this Half Pint Mug while studying at the Royal College of Art. The mug has two walls so the outside never gets scaldingly hot. If a hot drink is poured into the mug, the air between the walls warms up and serves to keep the drink warmer for marginally longer. The profile of the mug is borrowed from the standard British pint glass, known as 'nonic'. As well as being comfortable the shape ensures the rims of the mugs never clash if more than one is picked up together.
