Eames Elephant
Legendary designers Charles and Ray Eames succumbed to the charm of the Elephant like everybody else.
Initially, they developed a photo series in about circus elephants, then went on to produce a toy elephant
in 1945 as part of their experiments with three-dimensional plywood shapes.
Vitra is now marketing this design in a synthetic version and thus for the first time is making it
available to the target group for which it was originally intended: children.
Whether as a toy (also for outdoor use), a play-chair or as an item for children's bedrooms, this friendly-looking animal with its distinctive, huge floppy ears should make the heart of many a child and parent beat just that little bit faster.
Naturally the Eames Plastic Elephant, available in three colour variants from the Design Museum Shop (red, white,
dark lime), also has current CP and EC safety certificates for toys.
