A new and updated edition of the original Japanese book from 2008, first published by the Suntory Museum in Osaka. The original book was published in limited numbers and sold out within a few weeks. We sold it here at the Design Museum for £75.00 a copy, so this new edition, at our exclusive exhibition price, is remarkable value for such a comprehensive study extending to over 800 pages.

For over 40 years, from 1955 until the late 1990s, Dieter Rams designed or oversaw the design of over 500 products at German consumer goods maker Braun. Products created by Rams hold a special place in the history of industrial design, a discipline which emerged at the dawn of mechanisation and mass production, and which parallels our age of technological innovation.

A highly influential and significant figure in current product design, especially when looking at Apple products and processes of simplification and high functionality in design, publications by Dieter Rams are sought after, and this extensive book covers everything very thoroughly through text and an abundance of full colour photographs and sketches of all of his products.

The white plastic cover book arrives slip-cased in a grey cardboard sleeve, different paper types are used thoughout and full colour gloss images throughout make up this exceptional publication, intelligently brought back from obsolesence by Europe's best design publishing house, Gestalten.

Essentially, this book is the Encyclopedia of Dieter Rams and his work for Braun.
