Product details

  • While teaching at Immaculate Heart College, Sister Corita Kent designed socio-political serigraphs that combined bold, bright imagery with provocative texts, which she sourced from advertising slogans, street and grocery store signage, poetry, scripture, newspapers, magazines, philosophy and song lyrics
  • For Power Up, Kent borrowed the slogan of Richfield Oil Corporation and married it to a sermon by the activist priest Daniel Berrigan, transforming a gasoline advertisement into a statement on the empowering influence of the Word
  • A powerful, impactful piece that draws attention to any space it is displayed
