Issey Miyake: Bodyworks 1985 Framed Archive Exhibition Poster - 80 x 55cm
£375.00
Product details
- This original archive poster advertises a 1985 exhibition at the Boilerhouse: the first iteration of the Design Museum which ran between 1981 - 1986.
- The Boilerhouse was the first project funded by the Conran Foundation which aimed to promote the discussion of design's role in shaping the contemporary world.
- Issey Miyake: Bodyworks was the first exhibition to bring the late Japanese designer's intricate tailoring to the UK. The usually immaculate, white-tiled gallery was pumped full of black foam rubber, out of which rose mannequins wearing Miyake’s garments.
- Mounted on a conservation-grade mount board with a 20 mm border.
- The solid ash frame has been carefully stained with water-based paint (which is non-flammable and more environmentally friendly than oil-based paint) and applied with a coloured lacquer to create a deep lustre.
- Please note that these are original archive prints rather than reproductions, so may exhibit small markings.
- Designed by Tadanori Yokoo. Only 39 of these prints remain.
- Fitted with hanging string, framed size: 80 x 55 cm
