In 1936, Alvar Aalto created his classic series of glass vases.  Compared to the decorative objects of that time, the simple yet organic shape of this vase was a revolutionary statement when it arrived. Today, just as then, each and every vase in the Alvar Aalto Collection is mouth blown at the Iittala glass factory. Aalto's design has become an icon of Finnish design and one of the world’s most famous glass objects.

Nominated in Designs of the Year 2014 Massimiliano Adami’s collection of vases are enriched by a particularly simple effect: a gradient that brings to life the smooth surface of the vase, giving it a surprising lightness. This unusual quality is the result of a constructive experiment that pushes rotational moulding technology to the limits of its unexplored aesthetic potential. The hand-finished border makes each piece unique and reveals the craftsmanship hidden within the mass production of plastic objects. The vases are available in three sizes, in a choice of two colour and three colour gradients.
