The latest edition of this collaboration between two classic names in design: Paul Smith and Anglepoise.  Paul Smith's design for the third edition exhibits a bold primary colour palette, inspired by the visual vocabulary of Dutch painter Mondrian’s De Stijl. Originally created for Anglepoise by leading British industrial product designer, Sir Kenneth Grange, the timeless Type 75 design provides the perfect canvas for a designer known for his mastery of colour. Its streamlined, modernist form has become the designer’s palette and its no-frills, mechanical functionality is highlighted by his playful colour-by-component approach.

Following the success of Hello, My Name Is Paul Smith, which opened at the Design Museum in November 2013, the exhibition toured to Japan (Kyoto, Tokyo and Nagoya) in 2016. Hello Japan is the official catalogue that was produced to accompany the touring exhibition, and is written in Japanese. The catalogue was specially commissioned for a Japanese audience, and celebrates not only Paul Smith’s story, his collections and collaborations, but also the inspirations and obsessions that have helped to transform a small bedroom-sized shop into an innovative global forum for culture and style. From his company’s modest beginnings in Nottingham to its international prominence today, this exhibition reveals how Paul Smith’s intuitive take on design, together with an understanding of the roles of designer and retailer, have laid the foundations for lasting success and offers a unique insight into the magnificent mind of Paul Smith. - See more here.

Paul Smith's Cycling Scrapbook

With a foreword from David Millar, this lively 'scrapbook' seeks to illustrate Paul Smith's favourite people, races and places in the cycling world through the romantic and beautiful images and places that inspired him. From his collection of cycling jerseys and his extensive library of cycling publications and brochures of the 1950s and 1960s, to the inspiration he has found in his cycling heroes (Coppi, Anquetil, Bartali) and his collaborations with bike-makers (Mercian and Pinarello) and race organiders, this is a personal and highly visual journey that connects Smith's love of cycling with his love of design. One climax to this parallel career came in 2013, when he was invited to design the legendary maglia rosa - the pink jersey worn by the leader of the Giro d'Italia, which was blessed by Pope Francis I and presented to the winner. Ultimately, this is not merely a book about one man's enthusiasm for a sport, but an insight into how the people, stories and imagery that fill this passion have influenced one of the most successful personalities in the design world. Contains over 400 images and illustrations Dimensions: 24.1 x 2.5 x 34 cm 256 pages
