Issey Miyake: Bodyworks. Fashion Without Taboos.
This original archive poster advertises a 1985 exhibition at the Boilerhouse: the first iteration of the Design Museum which ran between 1981 - 1986.
The Boilerhouse was the first project funded by the Conran Foundation which aimed to promote the discussion of design's role in shaping the contemporary world.
Issey Miyake: Bodyworks was the first exhibition to bring the late Japanese designer's intricate tailoring to the UK. The usually immaculate, white-tiled gallery was pumped full of black foam rubber, out of which rose mannequins wearing Miyake’s garments.
Please note that these are original archive prints rather than reproductions, so may exhibit small markings.
Printed on slightly translucent, tracing paper style paper.
Very limited copies of this print remain.
Comes with an accompanying certificate of authenticity.
