Algue Green

£50.00 £60.00

Algues are interior design components and decorative elements at the same time. A seemingly plant-like plastic object which is delicate and flexible yet very strong. In its own right, it works as a simple decoration element with a strange poetic character The possibilities range from a delicate gossamer, which can serve as a trellis or light curtain, to almost opaque, thick plastic screens made up of multiple layers of Algues, for use as a room divider Algue calls on the creativity of its users and although it is a standardised and industrially produced modular unit, still allows room for customised solutions With the semi-transparent Algue, you now have the chance to work with an almost invisible room divider and play with light effects at the same time. 25 Algues are needed for a 1m² light network structure. If the structure needs to be denser, it is recommended that you attach the additional connectors which are available as an optional accessory.

Eames Radio

After developing a successful method for moulding plywood in the early 1940s, Charles and Ray Eames employed the acquired know-how to create a wide range of products – including radio cabinets. By 1952, roughly 200,000 radios with cabinets designed by the Eameses had been sold by various manufacturers One design, however, never went into production: an elegant table radio with a moulded plywood case, whose compact shape and austere, more technical look were unusual for the time. Completely conceived by the Eameses in 1946, the radio was rejected by the designated manufacturer, who wanted a 'normal design'. Charles and Ray sent photographs of the prototype to the magazine 'Interiors'; matchbooks were included in the pictures as a scale reference. Their aim was to increase the acceptance of smaller, more modern devices. However, this goal proved elusive, and the production of Eames radios was discontinued in the early 1950s More than 70 years later, Vitra has joined the Eames Office to revive the design of this compact radio, which was a favourite of Charles and Ray. Encased in an elegant walnut cabinet and equipped with up-to-date technology by the British manufacturer REVO, the Eames Radio today bears witness to the designer couple's unwavering belief in progress The Eames Radio is available in a limited edition of 999 units

Alexander Girard was a versatile skilled architect and designer for furniture and textiles, interior design, graphic design, exposition design and industrial design. These graphic cushions in three distinct patterns: heart, maze graph and eyes, represent his versatility and graphic skills The world of Alexander Girard consisted of happy colours and patterns, abstract and geometrical shapes or unique colour constellations. The focus of his work was textile design, where he expressed his love for colours, textures and graphical patterns Girard unified motives of traditional arts with abstract patterns in his works. Even his simplest graphical patterns reached high differentiation because of their clear colours and many of his patterns and figures express delighted playfulness. The graphic print pillows vitalise some of these designs: abstract graphical or expressive figurative patterns make up powerful accents

Three metal wall reliefs have been carefully chosen by Vitra from Alexander Girard's estate for their impact and timelessness: the Sun, Arrow and Heart. The Sun is one of the most popular motifs by the American designer Alexander Girard. As a large wall relief made out of solid brass, the sun is a decorative and sculptural wall element all in one. It was crafted as a wall decoration for The Compound restaurant and Girard's own house in Santa Fe The Heart is made from durable brass with reflective properties. The soft shape stands in contrast with the solid copper material. The heart is easily hung on the wall thanks to the included assembly material and offers a romantic ambience to any room The Arrow, which has an unusual squiggly shape, is made from a  powder-coated metal sheet that has been lacquered black. Thanks to the included holder, the arrow can easily be mounted. Lead the eye of visitors to any room in which it is hung

Miniature Chair - La Mamma (1:6 scale)

The original of the La Mamma was designed by Gaetano Pesce in 1969 and it is produced as 1:1 model by b & b italia, Milan/Italy since 1969 The 1:6 scale miniature consists of polyurethane foam and overlaid with a nylon jersey La Mamma (Donna) is completely in tune with the spirit of Pop Art and the Gaetano Pasce fondness for anthropomorphic shapes. The chair was actually designed to resemble a prehistoric, female fertility figure, with a ball attached to symbolise captivity. The unconventional nature of the shape also applies to the construction and marketing of the chair which was one of a series of six. Together they succeeded in marking a radical break from traditional upholstery production thanks to the technology developed by C & B Italia for creating oversized foam parts Donna consists of a moulded monoblock of foam without any supporting structure since the foam rubber is dense and free-standing

The shape of the Nuage vases made its first appearance in the oeuvre of Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec in 2002. Reminiscent of a cloud, the motif was originally produced as a plastic shelf module that can be grouped into clusters or large-scale configurations. Eight tubular cavities pierce the flat surfaces of the modular element while also defining the form's outer contours For the Nuage vase, the designers executed the cloud motif in extruded aluminium profiles of varying lengths. The cavities in the basic form are now positioned upright, dividing the vase into eight individual tubes that can be used for the artful arrangement of flowers and grasses. The undulating surfaces, with an anodised finish in various colours, produce an attractive interplay of light and shadow. Thanks to their precise outer contours, the vases can be fitted together to create entire 'cloud formations' All vases

The Eames Plywood Mobile models by Vitra are replicas of the original mobiles, designed in 1941 by Charles & Ray Eames. The plywood mobiles consist of two abstract and organic plywood elements that playfully rotate around each other. The mobiles were born in the early 1940s in a series of experiments with plywood. At the time, Charles and Ray Eames wanted to advance the technique of laminated wood deformation. The two of them found the random mobiles so beautiful that they hung the models up in their apartment in Los Angeles Available in two models: A and B
